About Us

President's Letter

2013-2014 Season

Dear Friends,

Welcome to our 27th season of outstanding and exciting musical performances. True to our mission, we are proud to present 16 free concerts that showcase the finest local, regional, and international artists in an intimate and beautiful space. We thank Second Presbyterian Church for their strong support of our series through all these years.

We offer a distinctive season of contemporary and classical chamber works performed by talented young artists and stellar local favorites. Our afternoon series begins September 22nd with a performance by the Aspen Trio, featuring guest pianist and Peabody faculty member Boris Slutsky. Chamber Music by Candlelight, our evening concerts featuring members of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, opens September 29th with a post-concert reception, where you can meet and mingle with the musicians. Join us for two world premieres (including one where the composer will also be performing), the Wonderlic piano competition, and two more post-concert receptions in the spring.

Our board members, staff, volunteers, and partners at the BSO remain committed to our mission of providing the only free full-year concert series in Baltimore. But we cannot do it without you. While our concerts are free, there are real costs associated with presenting these performances and we need your support. Please consider making a tax-deductible contribution and utilize any employer match to help us continue to provide Music for All, Free to All.  We also encourage you to patronize the organizations whose ads appear in this brochure.

We look forward to seeing you at future concerts.  In the meantime, we invite you to visit our website, CommunityConcertsAtSecond.org, and “Like” us on Facebook for more concert information. Enjoy the music and spread the word–you are our best ambassadors!

Sincerely,
